Glee Show

The children from Glee club showed parents, teachers and children how well they could sing, act and dance, as they done their rendition of the X Factor. Both an infant and junior child sang a cappella to an inspired audience. The whole cast sang and danced their way through their performance to a rapturous applaus at the end. Well done to Anita, Kerry and all the children of the Glee club .

In Art recently, class 1 have been painting self-portraits.They have looked at famous self-portraits and used them for inspiration. They also designed the backgrounds for their self-portraits by thinking about their own personalities.

Website Updates this Week

This week we have a few updates on the website.
First up, the newest files are now up for choir members to learn their words. The newest songs added are:
  • Janie Mama
  • Hey, Mister Miller
  • Gospel Medley
You can access these files by visiting our choir webpage.

Secondly, we have the latest school dinner menus, taking us right up to April. You can download these files from our school meals page.

The third item to be added is a uniform-buying survey. Over the summer, the company we use for providing our school uniforms has changed hands. To quote the accompanying newsletter:

"We wish to have a full picture of the experience parents have when ordering uniform from the yourschooluniform.com website. Please can you fill in the attached survey form with any comments you wish to make, both good and bad, and return it to the school office before we break up for half term."

So if you have bought uniform using the company during or since the summer, we would greatly appreciate your feedback - click here to open the form, and return to the school office when completed.

Lastly, a couple of tweaks to the website - we have now added Diary Dates and the School Blog to the side menu so that they're even easier to find!

Hector's World - Internet Safety

This week ICT Club have been learning about Internet Safety.

They have enjoyed spending some time exploring "Hector's World", a cybersafety initiative designed to help young people learn about safe online practices and digital citizenship. Why not click on the Hector's World logo opposite to visit and take a look for yourself?

We also discussed Hector's World Safety Button, which helps to protect you when you're on the computer:

"After you have installed the Button, a Hector's World character will swim in the top right-hand corner of your computer screen.
If you see something that makes you feel confused or scared when you are using the computer, you can click on Hector (or one of his friends) to cover the screen while you get some help."

Hector's World Safety Button can be downloaded from this website, or by clicking on Hector below.

ICT Club Create Their Own Comics

In ICT Club, we have been looking at different ways to create our own comic strips.

One of the ways we have done this is to use a site called MakeBeliefsComix. Below are some examples of our work - hopefully we will have more to come!
Click on the comic to view it full size:

"Animal People" by Oliver.

"The Vampire" by Isaac.
