Our week in Ladybirds...

Ladybirds have had another very busy week! This week we have been investigating pattern. We have been creating repeated patterns around our classroom.

We used chalk to create tracks for our friends on their bikes and scooters!

We have been colour mixing using chalk and water.

We even had time for a game of hedgehogs in the autumn leaves!

Black Country Museum

Year 5 children had a fantastic day out at the Black Country Museum. A gallery of pictures has been added to our 'Special Events' page.http://www.moorhall.bham.sch.uk/special-events

Reading support posters

Reading support posters have been added to the correspondence page of the website. They are also available on the curriculum - literacy section too.

Our number work!

This week Ladybirds have been doing lots of work with numbers; counting, ordering numbers and creating our own number lines.

We were also treated to an impromptu performance from Mollie after she received her Twinkle Variations certificate in violin. Well done Mollie, Ladybirds are very proud of you!

Colour Mixing... with hands and Jelly!

Ladybird's have been exploring colour mixing. We used our hands to investigate what happens when you mix the primary colours together.

We painted one hand in a primary colour...

Our partner painted one hand in a different primary colour...

Look at the concentration on our faces!

And then we mixed them together!

We painted our hands...

We mixed our colours together...

Look, we've made purple!

On Friday we mixed jelly in our pyjamas! We each chose two different colours of jelly we wanted to mix together and predicted the new colour they would make. The best part about it was taking the jelly home to eat!
